Starting from chapter 71, Kimetsu no Yaiba took place in Yoshiwara, the famous red district during Edo to Taisho period in Japan.
Many may not find any difference because most characters are wearing traditional kimono. However, question surfaces when Sumiko (Tanjiro), Inoko (Inosuke), and Zenko (Zenitsu) were sold by Uzui to different houses that we would know as Okiya (where geisha, oiran, and kamuro live together). Are they sold to houses as simply maid or apprentice to courtesan/oiran? Yukitora Keiji, cosplayer with plenty of achievements from Indonesia has entered her 10th year joining cosplay!
To commemorate this occasion, she compiled a special edition of photobook that tracks her journey as cosplayer from her very first time. Here is a short interview with Yukitora Keiji and a sneak peek to the photobook! This was an assignment for my Popular Culture class a few semesters ago.
I thought it is interesting to share it because there is so much more to a cosplayer than what people see on the surface. I hope this small paper of mine could motivate fellow cosplayers out there or even new people who want to try cosplaying! I have one long unpublished work called Aki no Mikazuki 秋の三日月 also known as Autumn Crescent Moon. I began writing it when I was in high school about the same time I wrote Botan –peony-
I have a total of 15 chapters written since high school and I have decided to rewrite it. 14th June, me and two friends departed from Jakarta to Bandung for a MoDaoZuShi photoshoot. Things were supposed to run smoothly but it didn’t. Here’s a brief run through of what happened during the journey and photoshoot.
Approximately two weeks ago, Touken Ranbu Indonesia hosted a cosplay café with of course, Touken Ranbu theme. We call it Honmaru e Youkoso
So, my exchange program had ended by January. I finished my exams and I planned for my return to Indonesia
Early in this year, I took a vital decision in my college life. I knew I am no longer a freshman and there would be no other chance like this one. I needed a break and also a breakthrough out of my comfort zone into the unknown. After thorough discussion with friends and family, I have decided to apply for student exchange to Malaysia. Albeit not going far, this is my baby step to travel the world as I have always wanted.
Hello, everyone!
It has been a while since I last updated. I have been busy with many things but I am here to finally announce the pre-order for my Photobook Donation Project. This project is only valid for Indonesians. |
