Yukitora Keiji, cosplayer with plenty of achievements from Indonesia has entered her 10th year joining cosplay! To commemorate this occasion, she compiled a special edition of photobook that tracks her journey as cosplayer from her very first time. Here is a short interview with Yukitora Keiji and a sneak peek to the photobook! Cover preview
1. It has been 10 years since Yuki debut as a cosplayer, please tell us your first character that you cosplay and a little background about it! Yuki: My first ever cosplay was an original character of mine, the costume are mix and match from my old modeling costume haha, but I did make small story of her, her name was sparkling gold hahahaha. And later on I make my first ever anime/manga character, Seth Nightroad from Trinity Blood, it's different from the first since it's not OC and quite challenging with the costume and character act, but it was so fun! 2. What are the changes that you feel from the 10 years in Cosplay community? Yuki: To be honest I can say I grow up in cosplay, since I joined the community whenI was a kid, and I can say this community also grows up to be a better and bigger community since then. And yeah with Internet and tech it's way easier to cosplay now than before hahaha 3. Share us unique experience when cosplaying at event! Yuki: Every event is unique, and have their own story so, it's hard to say, but well everything is quite similar since I kinda have the 'costume curse' so...I make my own costume in a quite rush and the deadline is the event day, meanwhile I start making it from 7 to 3 days before event so... well... quite challenging, heart racing and... no sleep, but it was fun and I feel satisfied when it's done and wear it on event! 4. What is your most favourite cosplay? (Share us one male character and one female character!) Yuki: Hard to pick hahaha since every character I cosplay are my favorite. Hmn... for Male, I'm still stuck with my love, Maeda Keiji, and for female is NiCO from Dead Or Alive 6 since it's my 100th costume...so it is quite special hahaha 5. Tell us a little bit about the special edition of the photobook Yuki just released! Yuki: For me the book is like a record of my 10 years in cosplay, I also call it as 'thesis' since it's a thick book, quite heavy hahaha and I put almost all the photo and costume I have so.. the idea is so random but well there you go.. 10 years of cosplay , 100 events and 100 costumes 6. Have you ever thought of quiting cosplay? What motivates you to keep doing it? Yuki: I did think about it countless time, even until now, but many people appreciate and support me also encourage me to keep doing it, thank you everyone! 7. Any tips in makeup for cosplay or crossplay? Yuki: Hmn. I think both crossplay and cosplay makeup are pretty similar with the base, for me just make sure you make it is similar with the character as close as possible! Also, check my Youtube channel if you wanna look up my makeup tutorial. It may help! #promotion 😆 8. Usually, what kind of character attracts you to cosplay? Yuki: Well it's random, sometimes I love to cosplay character that is similar to me, sometimes completely different. I guess it depends on the character's charms? But I mostly don't cosplay popular character, maybe cosplay some of popular characters but after the hype is decreasing, I dunno hahaha I'm not following the hype hahaha... I stick with old love more longer, so... it's hard to fall for new one hahaha 9. Cosplay challenge that you would like to try? Yuki: Hmn... maybe more for competition? Hahahaha I still want to join the international competition, I miss the feeling as participants and competitors so badly hahaha, but I don't have partner and still haven't found the right one so yeah... still waiting, but I'm sure I'm coming back on stage joining the competition! 10. Here’s some sneak peek of the photobook!
