Last year I was encouraged by a lecturer to join a conference. Long-short story, we found academicsworld and applied for it. I was stupid to not question even the smallest doubt. I was scammed.
Here is a warning for fellow scholars and the whole process.

Previously, I wrote about how I wanted to produce something positive from something negative and that I made a photo-book project with my friends which is inspired by my own insecurities in symbolism.
Here is how it went It is 24th of March in Japan which marks the birthday of KENN, a voice-actor in Japan who smacked karma straight on my face five years ago.
As you have probably noticed, I am an anime fan. Not only deeply interested in Japan’s culture and history, I am interested with Japanese men (especially KENN and Hijikata. No one can replace them in my heart unless my heart betrays me). This is a short entry about Hijikata.
I love how he is like a durian. All pricky outside but actually soft inside. I love him. It has been a while since I updated.
If you are friends with me on Facebook, you might know that I have been getting all the blues and I was a mess inside. At the same time, I also recently had a photo-session. I have only shared several behind the scene photos that do not really tell what I was doing. So here, I would like to share. I do not particularly hide the fact that I have suicidal thoughts and depression. Although, I don’t mention it often. I want to just leave it alone so I don’t really speak about it. But now I think we all should talk about it. We should care about it. Comifuro X recently was held on 3rd and 4th of March and for the first time, I participated both days of the event. It is a wonderful coincidence that I have every Saturday as off-day. I finished all urgent work and reserved booths for two days.
Previously, Comifuro IX in September last year was fun yet suffocating. This could be a great chance to share what I think about Comifuro X as many improvements had been done. At first, I had no intention whatsoever to know BTS. I knew news that went through my facebook timeline that they have huge fandom and that they have crazy fans. I also heard the news that they came to Indonesia for their concert tour. My friend went to the concert and came back bruised. Then the news continued to stream through my timeline. I once pried into the matter and found out that it was a fanwar. It did not leave any good impression so I pried no more.
I wrote previously about Get to Know Oiran which briefly explained who Oiran is and how it was in the Edo period. I also explained how Oiran was high on demand with higher price than Geisha. Geisha won over Oiran in popularity and Oiran lost its business slowly which eventually banned by the Japanese government.
Here are skills that made Oiran special: Everyone knows about geisha or artist literally, but what about oiran?
Oiran used to be higher than geisha back in Edo period. They wore better garments and more flamboyant hair ornaments parallel to the skills they possessed. Yet, people think they are the same as geisha. So, who were oiran? Recently, I had a photosession with Frea Mai in Bluemoon Studio. It was a traditional chinese clothing photosession so, we both wore hanfu(汉服) called qi xiong ru qun (齐胸襦裙).
I had wanted to do it for a long time. I used to be obsessed with watching Wu Mei Niang Chuan Qi (武媚娘传奇) or also known as The Empress of China. Not only because of the story, the clothes too are all very well-designed. |
